Each portrait aims to humanize the individuals behind the statistics, shedding light on their unique journeys and the harsh realities they face daily. Through these powerful images, I hope to foster empathy and raise awareness. I choose to showcase black and white photographs to emphasise the raw emotions and stark realities of their experiences. The absence of colour allows the viewer to focus on the expressions and stories of the subjects, highlighting the depth and complexity of their lives.

About The Artist
I am Cecilia, a portrait photographer based in Kuala Lumpur, originally hailing from the lush jungle city of Sabah, Malaysia. Since embarking on my photographic adventure in 2017, I have committed myself full-time to capturing the world through my unique creative lens. My work is more than just images; it’s a tapestry of emotions, each piece woven with the intent to inspire, provoke wonder, and create deep connections.
